Priory Records have recently issued their fourth CD of Jonathan Willcocks’s choral music – featuring ‘The Song of Mary’ and ‘In Praise of Singing’, two works which have been greatly enjoyed by choirs and audiences alike. This vibrant work for SATB choir, Soprano and Baritone soloists and orchestra was commissioned by The Really Big Chorus, and first performed in the Royal Albert Hall. It is accessible to choirs of all sizes, and comes with alternative orchestrations of either full symphony orchestra or small ensemble of 11 instruments + organ (1,1,1,1; 1,0,0,0; timp/perc, stg 5tet + organ).
